Rushmoor Royals have a set of competitive “sprint” awards/badges for swimmers to work towards regardless of age.

The required times for these awards are in the table below.

These awards can be achieved in either Short or Long course (for distances swum between 25m and 100m) across all four strokes (Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly) plus the Individual Medley. Times can be achieved in competitions, galas or organised time trials at the club.

All events must be swum in accordance with ASA rules.

The idea is to purchase the circular badges for the Bronze, Silver and Gold standards and then have each of the strokes under the badge as you achieve them.  The round badges are for display purposes and the strips are earned according to the time.

If your swimmer achieves a qualifying time at any of the organised events, you can make a claim for the appropriate badge.  You just need to check the results as they are published (either via SwimmingResults.org website or other published results and note down the event date, stroke, distance and of course the time achieved).

How do I check my swimmers times for Sprint Awards?

Instructions for how you can use OnDeck (the TeamUnify mobile app) to help show you whether your swimmer has achieved a sprint award:

  1. Sign in to OnDeck and then go to Membership > Personal Bests (and if you have more than one swimmer select their name)

  2. Near the top of the screen there is an option called 'Time Standard' which if you have not used this before will show the 'select' button and once you tap on that you need to select the third item 'My Team (Rushmoor Royals Swimming Club) and tap 'Done'

  3. On the next screen select 'RRSC Sprint Awards' and 'Done'

  4. You will then reach the screen with the personal best times for your swimmer and against each time it will show whether any of the times have achieved sprint awards

  5. The example below shows that the swimmer has qualified for a bronze award for the 50m breaststroke but needs to take another 3 seconds off their time to reach the silver award:
